Barnados, North Somerset Council and Allianceomes organised the day with contributions from Avon Wildlife Trust.

While time flew by for children, parents discussed plans for the future of youth services after North Somerset Council announced a raft of cuts to provisions for young people, due to take effect in April.

Mary Morgan, of Weston Neighbourhood Management Team, said: "Young people along with their families were also helping to produce a vision for positive activities for children.

"During the day more than 40 local people signed up to get involved in supporting the vision, either by acting as a trustee, becoming part of a managing committee or contributing time to assist activities run."
