Editorial: The Little Red School House provides hope and confidence
Just the name of The Little Red School House, recently opened by the Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind, harks back to a time when life was simpler and education served simpler needs. "I want to be independent, and I want to be on my own," she said. It hasn't been content to rest on its laurels and continually adds workers and training programs, along with providing enrichment experiences for the blind and visually impaired. The center cost $750,000 to build and is on the campus of Industries for the Blind on the north side of Winston-Salem. Editorial: The Little Red School House provides hope and confidence |
