Let loose this weekend and please feel free to show off those tats at the 4th annual Tattoos by the Bay convention.

The Half Pint Brawlers also will perform on Saturday.

This year's line up includes the Aztlan Arts Suspension Show, which takes body piercing to extreme levels.

"You have to be in the right frame of mind to be suspended," he said.

Those looking to get a new tattoo or piercing won't be disappointed because they'll be plenty of artists ready to supply their services.

Presented by local tattoo shop Skindustries Tattoos, the convention has grown to include more than 180 artists and dozens of vendors to fill 42,000 square feet of tattooed fun. Interested participants should visit the Tattoos By the Bay website for contest rules and regulations.

Urbanec also has advice for those brave souls willing to take the plunge and try suspension, which requires being pierced and lifted by hooks.

"It's a growing subculture.

Ron Urbanec of Skindustries Tattoos said he and his fiancee started the convention using money from their own pockets because they saw the need. We run by the old adage that a good tattoo is not cheap and a cheap tattoo isn't good," Urbanec said. " .
