Animal Welfare Groups Urging Pet Owners To Keep Furry Friends Safe On 4th of July

Fourth of July celebrations are usually fun for people, but can be scary for their furry friends.

Below are some tips to keep your pets safe while celebrating Independence Day:

If you're going to see live fireworks displays, leave pets at home.

Never leave your pet alone in the car, even with the windows rolled down.

If you and your pet are invited to an Independence Day picnic or BBQ celebration, remember that alcoholic beverages have the potential to poison pets, so never leave your beverage unattended. In their fear, pets that normally wouldn't leave the yard may escape and get lost.

"With a little planning, pet owners can enjoy the festivities and be reassured that their companion animals are kept safe and stress-free," said Julie Bank , Animal Care
