UK: Appointment of new Civil Service Commissioners

 

The Civil Service Commission regulates appointments to the Civil Service making sure that they are made on merit on the basis of fair and open competition. Commissioners also promote and hear appeals brought under the Civil Service Code.

The new Commissioners are:

* Philip Augar

* Kathryn Bishop

* Christine Farnish

* Moira Gibb CBE

* Wanda Goldwag

* Angela Sarkis CBE

Sir David Normington, the First Civil Service Commissioner and Commissioner for Public Appointments said:

"The open competition for these posts attracted an extremely strong field of candidates. I am delighted that we are able to appoint individuals with such a wealth of talent from across the public, private and voluntary sectors. Their experience and expertise will be a great addition to the team and I look forward to working with them."

The new Commissioners announced today will join the Commission in April 2012. Commissioners work part-time, typically between four and eight days a month.
