Rugby players in charity match STAFFORDSHIRE police rugby players will take to the pitch in a St Patrick's Day battle for a charity cup next week. The event begins at 2pm with kick-off at 3pm. The event is being staged in memory of former Lichfield and Whittington player Michael Wakefield. Other attractions include Irish Dancing, a Pipe Band, a hog roast and a bouncy castle. Cash raised at the event will go to the mental health charity Mind. Lichfield Rugby Club will host the game on Saturday, March 17, in Cooke Fields, Lichfield. After the match, the England v Ireland international will be shown at the club. |
