| Woman says apartment pest control ruining her life
DENVER - Pests in your home can sometimes be a nuisance, but one woman says the practice of getting rid of those pests in her apartment complex is turning her life upside down. " . The viewer says she's been living in the building for almost a year. Los Angeles comes in fifth. The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, says she's never seen bed bugs or cockroaches in her place at in the 1400 block of Jersey Street in Denver, but every two weeks, she has to pack up her life for spraying. "Enough is enough," she said. A senior account manager from Orkin told 9NEWS the twice a month treatment is unusual. A typical treatment could take two weeks to a month to work, Dependant upon the infestation. Based on 2011 stats, Denver ranks number four on the list of the top 50 bed bug cities in the country, up two spots from the previous year. Orkin says bed bugs look like apple seeds. 9NEWS spoke with Orkin, another pest control company. "Clean out every closet, floorboards of every closet, pack up the bathroom, pack up bedroom, lift up the bed, closet in the bedroom, kitchen, pack up the kitchen, every dish," she said. Pinnacle Property Management refused to talk to 9NEWS on camera. This means residents have to pack up their belongings every single time. The new one, Pinnacle Real Estate Management, has been spraying for cockroaches and bed bugs every two weeks. The viewer says she's had just about as much luck with both of those parties herself. |
