Alison triumphs at beauty awards A woman who works at a beauty salon in St Albans is celebrating after winning "Therapist of the Year" at the beauty equivalent of the Oscars. She said: "I have been working within the beauty industry for six years. "The Therapist of the Year category had more entries than any other category ever before so to be a winner out of the whole of the UK is amazing. The former West Herts College student, who lives in Bushey, pipped five other finalists from all over the UK to be given the title. "I had to undergo judging at the London College of Beauty Therapy, where I had to do a facial and full body massage on a model with five judges watching, and then have a ten minute interview with them where they fired questions at me. The event was hosted by comedian and presenter Rufus Hound. "I have not entered this category before, but have been a finalist for Manicurist of the Year at the British Beauty Awards in 2008 and 2009. " Skin and Tonic Beauty Salon also managed to gain a finalist position for Best Beauty Salon, but missed out on winning. |
