News Briefs: Police warn of home-repair scams

The Vernon Hills Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit warns homeowners to beware of home-repair scams. Persons should call police on the spot and try to provide a description of the suspect(s) and a vehicle.

Anyone with questions should contact the Vernon Hills Police Crime Prevention Unit at (847) 247-4889. The Cook Park Library is located at 413 N. The small group classes will be led by experienced employment professionals and are open to everyone including people with disabilities.

Homeowners are advised not to allow strangers into their homes or to distract them away from the unlocked front door. Participants may register for any or all the classes. A couple of the most common home-repair frauds are driveway sealing and painting frauds.
